Standards News
Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at 2:15PM I have previously provided updates around the development of ISO 22301, the new international standard on business continuity, but I thought it would also be interesting to readers to know about other standards that are being developed by the same committee, TC223.
The remit of the committee is Societal Security and therefore is very wide indeed. ISO 22320 has just been published and this has the title of “Societal security – Emergency management – Requirements for incident response”. This document has a wide remit in addressing organizations that have any form of involvement in incident response planning, from those that need to implement incident response, to those who offer guidance, develop regulations or are responsible for communication with the public.
Alongside defined requirements, there is useful guidance in the annexes including how to categorize incident levels and how to rate the reliability of information. The requirements themselves describe the basics for command and control, coordination and cooperation, organizational structures and procedures and interoperability; and establishes requirements for operational information for incident response.
Anyone with an interest in this area can purchase directly via the ISO store http://www.iso.org/iso/store.htm
